Artist Bio

Katya Labowe-Stoll (b. 1999, Connecticut, USA) is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist working in painting and drawing.

Labowe-Stoll’s imagery unfolds in an imagined post-flood world, where organic lines and transparent washes evoke figures and objects — apple cores, fish, clovers — that hover between real and unreal. Drawing on her reflections about how humans might evolve after catastrophe, she builds mythic scenes in which bodies become landscapes and inner delusions shape outer realities. Her work asks how we create meaning and sometimes delude ourselves through the stories we tell about our environment and ourselves.

She earned her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2021 and has exhibited in New York and Los Angeles. In 2025, Labowe-Stoll will make her Sabbatikal debut.
